  • Acting as sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator, and President of the Tribunal in various arbitrations before the Arbitration Center of the LIma Chamber of Commerce, and the Center of Analysis and Dispute Resolution of the PUCP, where he is a member of the List of Arbitrators.

  • Acted as Emergency Arbitrator in a case before the International Arbitration Center of the American Chamber of Commerce of Peru ("AmCham-Peru"), where he is a member of the List of Arbitrators.

  • Representation of a Brazilian-Chinese consortium in an arbitration before the Center for Analysis and Dispute Resolution of the PUCP, regarding a major water and sanitation public work in Lima. 

     

  • Representation of a Peruvian company in an arbitration before the Arbitration Center of the Lima Chamber of Commerce, regarding a dispute involving a public transportation concession contract.

  • Representation of a Peruvian subsidiary of a French company in the three (3) domestic arbitration proceedings before the Center for Analysis and Dispute Resolution of the PUCP, concerning a series of of obligations under a road concession contract.

     

  • Representation of Electroperú S.A., a private state-owned company in the electricity sector, in three (3) ad hoc arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules based in Lima, against a foreign company in relation to an electricity supply contract.

Experience as arbitrator

         Investment Arbitration

  • Part of the national and international legal team that previously represented the Republic of Peru in several ICSID arbitrations and under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, regarding foreign investment disputes in ports, roads, electricity, and mining projects, with results entirely in favor of the State in all cases. 

     

  • Representation of the Republic of Peru in direct negotiations with a foreign investor, which prevented the initiation of an ICSID arbitration.

     

  • Representation of a Mexican investor in an ICSID arbitration regarding a telecommunications concession contract.

     

  • Advising various foreign investors on the protection of their investments and the assessment of potential disputes under investment protection treaties (Free Trade Agreements with Investment Chapters, and Bilateral Investment Treaties), as well as under contract, where appropriate. 

   

         International commercial arbitration

  • Representation of a Japanese supervisory company in an arbitration before the International Chamber of Commerce ("ICC"), regarding the supervision of a public work of a water and sanitation project.

     

  • Representation of Perupetro S.A., a private state-owned company in the hydrocarbons sector, in an arbitration initiated by an American company under the Arbitration Rules of the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission ("CIAC"), regarding the calculation of royalties under a License Contract for the Exploitation of Hydrocarbons.

  • Representation of Perupetro in an arbitration initiated by an Argentine company under the CIAC Arbitration Rules, regarding the termination of a relevant License Contract for the Exploitation of Hydrocarbons and a series of environmental obligations. 

     

  • Representation of a concessionaire company in three (3) ad hoc arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules against the Lima Municipality, related to varios contractual issues involving the performance of obligations under a road concession contract.

     

  • Representation of a concessionaire company subsidiary of a French company in two (2) arbitrations before the Paris International Arbitration Chamber ("CAIP") with the Lima Municipality, regarding the performance of obligations under a road concession contract.
